Campaigns aim to influence brand choice, support physical-retail sales and drive traffic to online-pharmacy product pages. Each objective needs its own evaluation method. Start with the buyer’s decision, then select the audience, message and format.
One objective connects the media plan
“Launch banners and video” describes buying, but does not define the outcome. A new medicine may need name recognition. An established brand may need a reason to choose it or support for repeat purchase.
Buyer decision
Awareness, choice or next step
Audience
Why someone might respond
Message
The argument to communicate
Measurement
How the outcome is assessed
Write the objective in one sentence. For example: “Introduce the brand to adult category buyers in regions where it is available and assess awareness changes.” This hypothetical objective calls for reach formats and brand measurement.
For online-pharmacy traffic, specify the product-page destination and tracking method in advance. The broader launch process is covered in medicine promotion; this guide focuses on media buying.
These consumer scenarios concern non-prescription medicines. Russian law does not permit public online advertising of prescription forms and doses. Product-property messages must match the approved instructions; include the contraindication warning. Distribution-specific requirements are set out in Article 24 of the advertising law.
Choose the format for the message
Banners suit a short argument and a click through. Video gives time to develop a message. Native placements explain a product within an article. Switch the illustrative layouts below to compare them.
One message. A recognisable brand.
There are contraindications. Consult a healthcare professional.

These layouts illustrate format structure, rather than finished advertisements. Copy, advertising identification and mandatory elements need approval before delivery.
| Format | When useful | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Banner | A short message and page visit | Sizes, viewability, context and destination |
| Video | Brand introduction and explanation | Duration, sound, skipping and completion rules |
| Native | Explanation within editorial context | Length, advertising label, delivery and reading measurement |
Compare video with duration, skipping, sound and viewing conditions in mind. Otherwise higher completion rates may reflect delivery conditions. Confirm web, InApp and CTV availability for the project; Pharmatic Mindset segments cannot automatically be applied to every inventory type. CTV exposure may be recorded at household level.
Every audience needs a selection rationale
Medicine and category interest describe different groups. Add signal recency and exclusions: a broad category over a long window may produce a different audience from recent interest in a specific product.

Life situation and context
Thematic groups, such as travellers or parents, inform the message’s life context. They do not establish medicine interest or diagnosis. See audiences and targeting for sources and limitations.
Geo indices and current search activity inform buying allocation; weather and pollen matter where relevant to the category. Compare these signals with regional product availability. Demand analysis provides context: searches are not people or sales.
To test a message, keep other conditions comparable. Changing audience, format and argument together makes differences difficult to explain.
Plan reach and frequency together
Spending quickly within a narrow audience can increase repeat impressions while adding few people. The plan needs reach estimates, frequency limits and contact distribution alongside total impressions.
Check both when increasing budget. This diagram contains no forecast or campaign data.
There is no universal frequency for all medicines. Agree it against audience size, campaign duration and message complexity. Ask where caps apply and whether publisher overlap can be accounted for.
Compare proposals with equivalent scopes. Evaluate CPM, cost per thousand impressions, alongside viewability, context and reporting cuts. Budget creative preparation and research separately.
If you plan a video-and-banner sequence
Sequencing to one person requires exposure matching and shared frequency control. If unavailable, plan the formats as independent placements. Including both in the plan does not guarantee a banner will follow video for every user.
Reporting should support decisions
Separate buying-control measures from effect measures before launch. The former inform delivery changes; the latter assess what changed for the brand.
Frequency rises, additional reach slows
Check impression distribution and the remaining audience. Adjust pacing or caps; any expansion should retain relevance.
Clicks arrive, page actions do not
Check mobile loading, tracking and message-to-page consistency. Fix measurement or the page before changing bids.
A publisher is cheaper, contact quality is lower
Check viewability, suspicious traffic and context against agreed conditions. A low price alone does not make the placement worthwhile.
Online-pharmacy product-page visits count as traffic. Online purchases and real-time outcomes of these visits are currently unavailable in the platform. Search growth also needs an appropriate comparison before attributing it to advertising. See the overall pharmaceutical marketing analytics framework.
What the launch brief should contain
Finish with a document the team can use to launch the campaign and assess delivery.
- Product and objective
- Medicine status, goal and approved argument
- Audience
- Sources, recency and exclusions
- Delivery
- Formats, conditions, geography and dates
- Reach and frequency
- Estimates, limits and overlap
- Measurement
- Metrics, analytics and separate research plan
- Resources
- Budget, materials and destination pages
Pharmatic helps find the medicine, compare interest with its category and competitors, select potential audiences, prepare and run the campaign, then evaluate it. Creative production or adaptation is agreed as additional work.
Medicine, objective, regions and timing
That is enough to begin. Audience, delivery and measurement requirements are then refined in the brief.
